Week 5 Recap – 4.30.16
- Updated: May 3, 2016
The Cannons score a big early season win against the Atlanta Hustle to improve to 2-3. Maintaining control the entire game, Jacksonville looked as comfortable as ever at home, securing the 23-18 victory. Travis Catron dominated the statistics columns, leading the team in D’s (2), Goals (5) and Plus/Minus (8). Mischa Freystaetter, the American Ultimate Disc League leader in Goals (29) and Plus/Minus (43), reeled in 5 Goals and threw for 5 Assists during the Atlanta game as well. Cole Sullivan, nearly reaching double digits in the Assist column, threw for 9! But it was Andrew Roney, making his Cannons debut (ankle injury), that added just the right amount of silky-smooth to a high powered offense.
It’s happening again. Two tough early season road trips are out of the way and major roster additions are coming. The Cannons are perfectly positioned to exact a mid-season playoff run, reminiscent of just one year ago. The Cannons have a Week 6 bye, allowing an extra week of rest and preparation before welcoming our biggest rival, the Raleigh Flyers, to town on Saturday May 14. Saddle up, because this one is going to be a heck of a ride. BOOM!
