And the Cannons go BOOM! The Cannons improve to 1-1 with a win (31-22) in our home opener against the Nashville NightWatch. Thankfully, the weather held off during game play making for a pleasant evening. TacoLu and The Loving Cup Hash House combined efforts to provide some delicious eats! ‪#‎LuHouse‬.

On the field, Mischa Freystaetter (6’7″) dominated once again with 7 assists and 6 goals, while fellow big man Travis Catron (6’5″) caught a team leading 8 goals. CJ Clarke, who Coach Tuba moved up from the practice squad, had a breakout game, recording 4 goals, 3 assists, 9/9 catches and 5/5 passes. His speed and athleticism complement our existing offensive core extremely well. On the defensive side of the disc, Brad Seuntjens had a whopping 5 blocks while Cannons new comer Craig Manahan posted 3 as well. A special shout out to Andrew “Big C” Carleton for playing on both sides of the disc, totaling 35 points (19 O, 16 D). In the end, the entire Cannons defensive squad showed tenacity until the last second ticked off the clock, enabling us to pull away in the 4th quarter.

Next weekend we travel to Texas to face the Dallas Roughnecks on Saturday, 4/23 and the Austin Sol on Sunday, 4/24. Dallas has held the number one spot in the power rankings since the preseason and Austin just lost a heartbreaker (29-28) to last year’s divisional champion Raleigh. Our next home game is the following weekend at 7 PM on Saturday, 4/30 at Bolles when the Atlanta Hustle come to town! Get your tickets now at our official online store.
