Cannons Win Home Opener!
- Updated: April 4, 2017
Jacksonville starts 2017 the right way with a 40-23 win over Nashville, setting a new franchise record for points in a game (previously 31).The AUDL’s most dangerous duo, Cole Sullivan and Mischa Freystaetter, lived up to the hype registering 6 assists and 8 goals respectively.Jeremy Langdon added an impressive 10 goals and 6 assists of his own.
The AUDL leaderboards are littered with Cannons names (download the AUDL app; follow each player’s stats here: http://bit.ly/2owbpfc) which comes as no surprise.
The defense, led by Chris LaRocque and anchored with Cannons staples Bradley Seuntjens, Andrew Roney and Brandon Perales, as well as newcomer and this week’s Player of the Game Jakeem Polk, forced turnover after turnover.
The upgraded defensive core converted many of these turnovers into goals, many thanks due to Jakeem ripping passes over multiple defenders on multiple occasions.
Coach Tuba kept Nashville guessing by mixing in offensive regulars to an already strong defensive line. Mischa and Brad both registered three blocks, tied for second league-wide.
The fans truly got a show with big play after big play; and even some dancing in the stands!
This coming weekend marks the first bye week of the season for the Cannons, yielding some extra time to recover and prepare for Raleigh to come to town April 15th. Join the hype at The Bolles School at 7 pm. #BOOM
