7-15-17 Recap

The Cannons finish the 2017 regular season with a bang! Jacksonville bested Nashville 33-24 and in doing so gave the fans quite a show. Jordan Huston, a favorite target for Cannons handlers all season, posted 22 goals against Nashville. Jordan shattered the AUDL all-time single game goal record, which was previously 14, held by multiple players. Chris LaRocque and Bobby Ley recorded 9 and 7 assists respectively; Bobby also had 3 blocks.

On the defensive side of the disc, the team registered a franchise high 20 blocks, Ryan Chard with 4 of them. The halftime relay has now found a permanent spot at Cannons home games. Watching fan groups compete against each other in dizzy bat throws, the hot dog eating contest, trick shot challenge and the two man no hands disc carry just doesn’t get old. We are looking forward to some exciting relay races next season!

After the game, the team doused Coach Tuba with water and welcomed the fans onto the field. Tuba address the team and fans together. Of course, Jordan received Player of the Game accolades. The regular season has come to an end and the real journey is about to begin.

The Cannons are off to Dallas to face the Roughnecks in the 2v3 playoff game on July 29 at 8 PM eastern time – we are hoping for a live stream link from Dallas; keep checking social media and the website! The winner will go on to face Raleigh two weeks after that in the divisional championship game; and the winner of that will go on to championship weekend in Montreal. BOOM!
